You can’t be a hacker without knowing at least some basic stuff about TCP/IP. I’m gonna help you understand its basics, but this chapter is no substitute for a real book on the subject. TCP/ IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol. It is a suite of communication protocols used to interconnect computers/ devices on a network, used as a standard for the Internet and most of the private networks. Like most network protocols, TCP/ IP is layered. Each layer builds upon a layer below it, adding new functionality.
