Power plant engineering This wikipedia article has multiple issues. Power plants/power stations are large areas of land, or facilities dedicated to producing electricity for all walks of life. The most common power plant is a nuclear power plant. Nuclear power plants have multiple reactors that use uranium (a metal built up of breakable atoms). When a nuclear reactor is turned on, it forces uranium atoms together at an unimaginable pressure, causing their atoms to split which releases a tremendous amount of energy. This energy is so hot and fast moving that it creates steam. The steam then travels quickly through a pipe, then turning a giant turbine thus producing energy.
